“To have the most positive impact on our children’s health and well-being, we must work together as a community in a comprehensive way to provide a safe and nurturing environment where youth have access to the information and resources they need to make healthy decisions.”
Barbara Green Ph.D.
Medical Director
South Shore Hospital’s
Youth Health Connection
Today, children and adolescents are often less healthy than their parents were at the same age. Our young people are facing challenges and risks that threaten their current and future health and well-being. The decisions they make today can have a positive or adverse affect on the rest of their lives.
As a concerned community, we can help promote the good physical health and mental well-being of local youngsters by working together to offer them the support they need to make healthy decisions. South Shore Hospital’s Youth Health Connection (YHC) is a unique community-based partnership dedicated to advancing the health of children and adolescents through innovative health promotion, education, training, and advocacy services.
Our Mission
South Shore Hospital’s Youth Health Connection is dedicated to the positive mental health and physical well-being of youth.
The program advances positive youth health outcomes through knowledge sharing, risk prevention, respect, and collaboration and connectedness. |
