physical therapyPhysical Therapy helps patients with strengthening, conditioning, increasing endurance, and improving overall mobility.  This may be accomplished through therapeutic exercises, balance/gait training, and recommending/issuing assistive devices for mobility.  Physical therapy may be gym-based, water-based or both, depending on the needs of the patient.

Patients have a different set of needs depending on their impairments, with varying lengths of stay required in physical therapy. After an initial evaluation, a plan of care is established and the patient attends therapy accordingly. He/she is re-evaluated monthly and discharged when the primary therapist determines is an appropriate time. Patients need a prescription, less than one month old, to be evaluated by a physical therapist.

Our therapists work closely with the referring physician to accomplish each patient's individualized goals and restore and maintain each patient’s functional mobility based on the referring diagnosis.

Physical Therapists (PTs)

PTs evaluate, establish a plan of care, provide treatments, and perform re-evaluations to identify progress toward goals and plan for discharge.

Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs)

PTAs treat and follow through with the plan of care established by the Physical Therapist under their supervision.
