Meet Our Staff

The Physicians

Our neonatologists lead the team in providing care for ill or premature newborns at South Shore Hospital. They are on staff at both South Shore Hospital and Children's Hospital, Boston. They are specialists in neonatal-perinatal medicine.

South Shore Hospital's NICU comprises a committed group of registered nurses who are expert in the care of ill and premature newborns. All nurses are certified in neonatal resuscitation, and participate as team members during complicated or high-risk births. The staff practices under a primary nursing model, which assures that a team of nurses provides consistent newborn care. Our staff also includes a neonatal nurse practitioner and certified lactation counselors, who offer instruction and guidance on breastfeeding premature newborns.

Other Staff

Other nursery staff – unit coordinators, unit assistants, social workers, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, speech therapist, occupational therapists, and nutritionists – work collaboratively with our nurses to support the delivery of care.
