Insurance and Financial Assistance Information

South Shore Hospital's mission as a not-for-profit community resource is to provide medical care to those in need, regardless of their ability to pay.

In the last 13 fiscal years (1994-2006), South Shore Hospital has provided $88.4 million in uncompensated care to the people of the South Shore — without any assistance from local, state, federal, or other funding sources. This amount is growing annually.

South Shore Hospital accepts nearly every major health insurance plan, as do the individual members of our medical staff. Because plan names and benefits change frequently, it is best to call your insurer to learn the details of your plan's benefits before you select a physician.

For your convenience, we've listed phone numbers and websites for the region's leading health insurance providers.
